RADIATORS

There have been many different designs and type of radiators produced over decades to heat peoples homes and businesses. Advances in technology and materials allow people and designers to re-imagine and re-invent over and over again from the same basic radiator principle first invented in the 19th century.

The most common terminology that you will hear today in radiators whether they are designer or standard are Designer Radiators, Cast Iron, Steel Convector, Aluminum, Electric radiators, Oil filled radiators, Fan Convector, Trench and Skirting convector.

CHOOSE YOUR HEATING SOLUTION:

Designer Radiators - this is a generic term that encompasses all off-standard, visually appealing radiators designed to enhance the look of any space. They are generally made from a variety of materials, with Mild Steel being the most common choice due to its durability and efficiency. While white remains the standard colour, many contemporary styles now come in trendy Anthracite and Black finishes, broadening your design options. Additionally, these radiators can feature lacquered or hammered finishes, each adding a unique texture and aesthetic element to the radiator you select. For those with more specific colour preferences, many models can also be professionally painted to match most RAL colours for an additional fee. With such a wide array of designs available, incorporating a designer vertical or horizontal radiator into your living room, hall, or kitchen can significantly enhance both the style and warmth of the room. We invite you to visit our showroom to view our extensive display and discuss the variety of options with our knowledgeable staff, who are happy to help you find the perfect solution for your home.

Cast iron Radiators - These are the original designs and what often comes to mind when you think of radiators found in old churches, historic schools, and grand manor houses. These radiators are not an everyday purchase; they are substantial in weight and are typically constructed by joining individual cast sections together making transport and handling an important consideration. Their large water capacity and metal content make them slow to heat up, but once they do, they retain warmth for an extended period. This characteristic provides a steady and comforting heat source. Such radiators bring a distinctive old-world charm and timeless elegance to your room—an atmosphere that modern heating solutions simply cannot replicate. There is a wide variety of designs, heat outputs, and sizes available to suit different needs and styles, and we would be more than happy to guide you through the options to find the perfect fit for your space.

Steel convector radiators - These are the Standard of todays houses being low water contact lightweight and fast to fit. The low water and steel content means they are fast and reactive to heat up and cool down. There are some upgrades available given more essthetic look to the radiators. We supply Firefly Radiators and their upgraded style is called the Prime heat and is available in vertical and horizontal and has the advantage of having the heat output of a convector but also the added radiant heat from the extra steel. these radiators are very competitvely priced and that modern look to your room. Please contact us for sizes and prices.

Aluminum Radiators – These radiators are lightweight and have a very low water content, which allows for a rapid response time when heating up. They work particularly well with low water content systems such as heat pumps, making them highly efficient for modern heating setups. The aluminum material is also extremely resistant to rust, which makes these radiators an excellent recommendation for wet rooms and bathrooms where moisture levels tend to be higher. Additionally, they offer a contemporary and industrial style that can complement a variety of interior designs. While aluminum radiators are generally more expensive than traditional steel radiators, they tend to have a longer lifespan, providing better durability and long-term value.

Electric and oil-filled radiators - these radiators operate solely on electricity and do not require an external heat source such as a boiler. They come with a variety of control options, allowing each unit to be heated independently from others, providing personalized comfort. These radiators are particularly ideal for retrofitting in small homes, offices, and rental accommodations because they only need an electrical supply, and the running costs can be conveniently monitored via your electricity meter. Additionally, they are available in vertical models, which can be perfect for small extensions or spaces where adding plumbing to your existing heating system would be difficult or impractical.

Skirting heating, Trench heating & Fan convector radiators – these types of radiators are less common in today’s domestic homes, but in commercial applications, trench heaters are used more regularly due to their high heat output and minimal intrusion into the space they are heating. Skirting radiators also have their place in modern heating systems and can be very effective at distributing heat evenly around a room while remaining visually unobtrusive, freeing up valuable wall space and maintaining a clean aesthetic. Fan convector radiators are typically installed in the kicker board area of a kitchen, offering a discreet heating solution. However, they are also available as space-efficient, high-output radiators suitable for various rooms. If you would like to learn more or discuss options, please feel free to contact us.

Advantages & Benefits of Floor Heating

Underfloor heating is becoming more and more common in both new builds and existing homes, and with very good reason. Heating your home in this way has many attractive advantages and benefits:

Improve Comfort

Underfloor heating creates an inviting, warm and cosy space. It works by radiating heating from the floor to the roof, allowing for an even ambient temperature around the body, thus allowing pleasant warmth at a lower temperature than conventional heaters.

Energy-Efficient Heating Solution

Because the floor itself is heated it retains heat far better than traditional radiators which cool down very quickly when turned off, causing the heat they’ve produced to evaporate rapidly. With underfloor heating, your home will be able to retain heat much better and require less energy to maintain warmth. With the rising cost in energy pricings, underfloor heating is the perfect solution due to its lower temperature than conventional radiators. This heating solution creates an even and comfortable heat throughout a room, allowing for cheaper running costs.

More Space

Heaters and radiators can be an eyesore. Our underfloor heating systems eliminates the need for any radiators throughout the home and frees up space that can be used for extra furniture or even just to keep the room feeling de-cluttered. We can help design and install a seamless feel to your home with our underfloor heating services which are hidden below your tiled flooring, allowing for an invisible yet effective heating system.

Low Maintenance System

Our expert team can help design and install the perfect underfloor heating solution for your home which requires little to no maintenance once fitted correctly.

Improved Air & Hygiene

Not only does underfloor heating cause a more pleasurable heat source, it also allows for cleaner air in every room. Underfloor heating allows a continuous air flow throughout a room while heating. In comparison, with a radiator system, stale warm air remains being circulated within a room. Perfect for sufferers of asthma or respiratory illnesses, underfloor heating increases the floor temperature which reduces the amount of dust mites and ground level damp.
